Vintage finds: Dear Golden

by Christine 25. February 2009 08:06

I discovered another great vintage boutique on Etsy through the fabulous Joanna of Cup of Jo, and was thrilled to find that the prices are completely affordable. So, I scrolled through and looked at each item, loving everything, and settled upon these four adorable pieces. I like the contrast of the bright dress with the other more muted colors and think it would be the perfect outfit for that slightly crisp day where the seasons are so desperately trying to change—in this case, winter into spring—where it's warm enough for bare legs, but still cold enough for a coat. The clutch is fantastic with that rich color, plus I love the little buckle in the front. Can you believe it's only $19! And don't you love the cute bows on the shoes? Now and Then: autumn vs. spring

by Christine 29. January 2009 07:33

So, earlier this week on my blog, I was lusting over a pair of vintage Ferragamo flats from Santoki Vintage. So much so, that I decided to create two outfits based around them that I could picture myself wearing...one for the fall and one for the spring. I find that those two seasons tend to be less brutal temperature-wise, and when wearing a summery skirt and top with flats, you can get away with either lightly layering with tights and a cardi or throwing on a hat and some bright accessories to give the outfit a more summery feel. So, with that said, here's what I came up with!

And One In Hand

Ebay alert!

Run, don't walk, pass go, get your 200 bucks and - I'm stopping, I'm stopping. If you're at this website, you know that name brand, while nice, isn't what it's all about. Keeping that in mind, I've spotted this 70s era taupe clutch that's unlike a lot of stuff you'll find in the shops right now, but I guarantee if you purchase this - everyone will be asking you wear you found it.

With room for more than just your lipstick and your keys, this clutch is great for a casual dinner out with friends, or a night out on the town.

Stylish Home

by Becca 15. January 2009 07:04

Back in the day when I was but a wee peon at the altar of all things fashion, I was known for my devotion the god Retro. Unfortunately, being a jobless soul, I developed the habits of the homeless, digging through trash and the Salvation Army's dollar bin for any and all sort of doo dads that might suit my needs, regardless of their pungent aromas.

While I shake my head at this Becca-From-The-Past, I must thank her for at least striving towards a sense of a style. I'm still in all things retro, but now I'm also into, you know, not catching the Syph from second hand clothing! Win!

Lindy Sue's is a website I'm fond of because it's "Clean Living" motto adheres to my own retro style philosophy - ie, it doesn't have to be old to look it. Plus it isn't 1994, wearing your bangs like a pinup everyday  is a bit passe - so do like Lindy Sue and work out those retro urges in your home -

Check out these Wiltshire Boulevard Tea Towels!

Clean, fresh, cute, vintagey - without sending guests running for the high hills! I love the fashion theme as well, especially on tea towels - because a life in fashion is a choice and comittment, and we should wear that badge and wear it proud!
