Drapey Vest-Cardigans Continued...One Look, Four Ways

by Christine 11. March 2009 07:12
Yesterday, I blogged about the drapey cardigan. I posted an image from Anthropologie that showed a cute way to wear the style and then picked four similar cardigans that I liked. And then today, as I was scrolling through my posts reading the various comments, I came across one where a reader asked if I could suggest some belts to wear with the selected cardigans. So, for fun, I decided to take it a step further and created four different outfits—similar to Anthropologie's—with each of the cardigans.

Here's what I came up with!

How to Wear: Drapey Vest-Cardigans

by Christine 10. March 2009 06:14

My friend L sent me this image today saying how much she loved this outfit from Anthropologie and thought it would be something I would wear. Well, she was dead on, I adore this look, but in the past have always been a little put-off by open, drapey vest-cardigans. The way I am shaped doesn't make them hang or lay easily on my body so I always avoided them. But, I am loving how in this case, it is securely belted and there for stays in place and doesn't hang all over in the wrong places. So, to celebrate the fact that I can actually wear these, I decided to gather a bunch of affordable options that I thought were cute and share them with you! What do you think of this look?

It's All In The Details

by Becca 6. January 2009 06:31

The best planned outfits in the world are demolished by a misplaced brooch, matching your shoes with your purse, or wearing more jewelry than Great Aunt Fern (Love you, Great Aunt Fern!). But pick your pieces wisely and you'll not only have the perfect look, but one that's distinctly you.

Take this silk scarf by anthropologie:

Now, anthropologie's not typically known for bargains, that's what makes this find so special. Not only is the print stunning (delicately brushed with dragonflies, fresh  mint, and orchids) but it's 100% silk and available online at major discount. If you grab this now you may have to keep it under lock and key until March, but just think about when you unveil it - what's that funny burning feeling? It's envy, my friend, and it's directed at you. Soak it in.

What have we learned today? Look for bargains in unexpected places, because to a certain degree - luxury is a bargain. Invest in a piece like this (still a STEAL at under 30 bucks) and you'll get so much more wear out of it than you would your average thrift store toss away.

Slam. Dunk.
